Privacy Notice

Last updated: 16 August 2026

In short: Vett Trade uses personal information to receive and manage customer job requests, match those requests with suitable plumbing professionals, operate trade accounts, take lead-fee payments, provide job tracking, handle support and complaints, and protect the platform from misuse.

1. Who we are

Vett Trade is the trading name used for this UK-based trader-matching platform. For privacy questions, data-rights requests or complaints, contact us through our contact page.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Vett Trade, we may collect:

3. Why we use personal information

We use personal information to provide and administer the service, process and match job requests, allow approved trades to receive opportunities, unlock customer contact details after an accepted paid lead, provide customer tracking, verify trade accounts, process payments, send service notifications, deal with complaints and disputes, prevent fraud or misuse, keep appropriate records and comply with legal obligations.

4. Our lawful bases

Depending on the activity, we rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract or performing a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting Vett Trade, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where the law requires consent for a specific optional activity.

5. Who we share information with

Customer contact details may be shared with the plumbing professional assigned to the request once the relevant lead has been accepted and payment confirmed. We may also use service providers that help us operate the platform, including hosting/database providers, payment providers and email-delivery providers. We do not sell customer contact details as a marketing database.

6. Service providers

Vett Trade currently uses technology providers including Supabase for database, authentication and backend services, Vercel for website hosting, Stripe for payment processing, and email-delivery services for transactional notifications. Those providers process information under their own contractual and privacy arrangements.

7. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, including operating the service, dealing with disputes, fraud prevention, accounting and legal requirements. Retention periods may differ by record type. Records connected to completed transactions or disputes may be retained longer where needed for legal or accounting reasons.

8. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access your personal information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion or restriction, object to certain processing, request portability, and withdraw consent where processing depends on consent. You can make a request through our contact page by choosing the privacy/data-rights option.

9. Complaints about privacy

Please contact us first so we can investigate. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled.

10. Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. Customer tracking requires a job reference and matching telephone number, and customer contact information is not intended to be visible to a trade before the relevant lead is accepted and payment is confirmed.

11. Automated matching

Vett Trade may use job details such as location, work type, urgency and trade coverage to help rank or match suitable trades. The platform’s matching process assists with allocation; it does not guarantee workmanship, availability or the outcome of a job.

12. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when the service or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
